Home owners want unique and timeless architectural designs for their homes. Some people want designs inspired from ancient cultures and peoples. Architectures combine the past to modern day designs in order to come up with an architectural design that is truly elegant and classic.
Some of the ancient architectural beauties they revive are:
- Ancient Greek Architecture – Architects adapt the rows of symmetrically arranged columns which are a trademark of Greek Temples. In homes nowadays, we can see this feature in front doors where there are headers and corner lights on each side of the door.
- Ancient Egyptian Architecture – The use of bricks and stones to build temples and palaces was common in Egypt during the past. Ancient Egyptians were also good in constructing rammed earth homes, which house builders in the modern age utilize. We commonly see ancient Egyptian Architecture in movie theaters and other large architectures.
- Gothic Architecture – A distinctive characteristic of the Gothic Architecture is the pointed arch roofs commonly found in churches. These churches also have bigger and more windows as compared to Roman churches. Nowadays, we can see homes with steeply pitched roofs and large windows.
These are just three of the most common ancient structural designs that inspire Architectures and home builders. Depending on a home owner’s preferences, an architect may devise other designs.
